Setting Up IPTV on Android TV and Google TV for Films and Box Sets

Setting up IPTV on Android TV or Google TV means installing a player, choosing its Xtream login and typing the PrimeFlexMedia details we send to your WhatsApp. Eight minutes is typical. It works the same on Sony, TCL and Hisense televisions with Google TV, on the Google TV Streamer, on the Nvidia Shield, and on any box that carries Google certification. Google Play lists TiViMate. IPTV Smarters Pro had no Google Play listing at our September 2026 check, so Downloader handles that one. Once you are in, the rest of this page is about films: finding the Movies and Series menus, moving through seasons and episodes, choosing subtitle and audio tracks, keeping a watchlist and keeping 4K titles smooth.

What to have ready for IPTV on your Android TV

  • A television, streamer or box with Google TV or certified Android TV (the Shield, the onn 4K Pro and the Google TV Streamer all qualify)
  • A Google account already signed in, since Google Play will not install without it
  • The PrimeFlexMedia login lines from your WhatsApp chat
  • A cable to the router, or a strong 5 GHz signal, for smooth 4K films

No login yet? Start a 24-hour PrimeFlexMedia trial with no card and follow along. Curious what sits behind the Movies tile? Read about the on-demand film library and how TV series are laid out by season, or compare plan lengths and screen counts.

IPTV on Android TV: 12 steps from login to the film library

  1. Check the operating system

In Settings, open the About or System page. Google TV or Android TV written there means this page fits your screen. If you see Tizen, webOS or Roku instead, use the matching guide on this site. Boxes built on phone Android tend to hide TV apps in the store, which makes certified hardware the calmer choice.

  2. Bring the software up to date

On Google TV the path is Settings, System, About, System update. Play Store refreshes itself in the background. Reboot once it is done. Newer firmware decodes more video formats, which matters for films because many 4K titles use HEVC.

  3. Install TiViMate from the store

Open the Apps tab on Google TV and pick Search for apps; older Android TV screens use a Google Play tile. Type TiViMate IPTV Player, confirm the developer and install. The free tier opens one playlist, films and series included. Premium unlocks extras such as more playlists and recording.

  4. Or install Smarters with Downloader

Prefer big Movies and Series tiles? Add Downloader from Google Play, then allow it in Settings, Apps, Security and restrictions, Unknown sources. Brands rename these menus slightly, so look for the closest match. Enter the code from our support team, install the player and delete the leftover file.

  5. Add the playlist with the library switched on

TiViMate route: Add playlist, then Xtream Codes. Smarters route: Login with Xtream Codes API. Type the server with http:// and its port, then username and password. When TiViMate asks about movies and series, say yes. The Google TV phone app gives you a proper keyboard for this part.

  6. Wait out the first download

Naming the playlist PrimeFlexMedia helps you spot it later. The opening download carries live groups plus 120,000+ movies and series, so a low-cost box can take a few minutes. Browse once it settles. After that, only changes download, and new arrivals show up by themselves.

  7. Browse films by category

Open Movies from the TiViMate main menu, or tap the Movies tile in Smarters. Categories such as genres and languages sit on the left. Pick one and scroll the artwork, or search if a title is already in mind. Select a poster to read the summary and running time, then play.

  8. Move through a series by season

Open Series and choose a show. Its seasons appear first, and each one opens to a numbered episode list. Start from episode one or jump to the point you reached last time. Many players roll straight into the next episode, which keeps a long box set flowing.

  9. Choose subtitles and audio mid-film

Press the center button while something plays to show the controls, then open subtitles or audio to see what that title carries. Some films ship with several languages; others ship with one. Google TV has its own caption settings under Accessibility, though most players rely on their own menu.

  10. Keep a watchlist and pick up where you left off

Long-press a poster to add the film to favorites where the player supports it. Your saved films sit together, ready for Friday night. Stop a film partway, reopen it later and most players offer to resume. That progress is stored on this device alone.

  11. Prepare the box for 4K titles

If the box has a network port, use it; a cable beats Wi-Fi over a two-hour film. Otherwise join the 5 GHz band. Boxes with 2 GB of memory do better with background apps closed. When one 4K title still stalls, switch to its FHD version, which needs far less bandwidth.

  12. Sign in on extra screens

Install a player on another TV, tablet or phone and enter the same PrimeFlexMedia details. Your plan sets how many play together, from one up to five. Live TV, the guide and catch-up on supported channels come with the login. Favorites and resume points stay with each device.

Where to find films and series on Android TV

Menu names shift a little between app versions, so use this as a map rather than a script. If a label differs on your screen, look for the closest match.

Want the maker's own instructions for menus and settings? See the Google TV Help Center. Titles come and go over time, and subtitle or audio languages depend on the source of each film, so test the ones you care about during the trial.

Big 4K films pausing? Check these first

  • Connection: a network cable or the 5 GHz Wi-Fi band holds a long 4K film far better than 2.4 GHz through walls.
  • Other traffic: pause large downloads, game updates and cloud backups in the house while the film plays.
  • The device: it must decode HEVC for most 4K titles; older sticks and TVs often play the FHD copy more calmly.
  • The copy: if one title stalls, pick its FHD version for tonight and tell support which film it was.

Android TV giving you trouble? Fixes that usually work

Google Play has no TiViMate listing

That usually means the box runs ordinary phone Android without Google TV certification, and Play hides TV-only apps on such hardware. Downloader remains an option. Bear in mind that uncertified boxes rarely receive codec updates, and those updates matter for newer 4K films.

Movies opens to an empty screen

The playlist was probably saved without the library. In TiViMate, edit the PrimeFlexMedia playlist in Settings, enable movies and series, then update. In Smarters, log out and back in so the profile reloads. A large catalog can take a few minutes the first time.

Audio plays but the picture stays black

The box cannot decode that video format. Update the system, then look for a different decoder option in the player settings. On older boxes, the FHD copy of the same film often plays when the 4K one will not.

Films stall at the same hour every night

Home Wi-Fi gets crowded in the evening. A network cable or the 5 GHz band helps most, and so does pausing big downloads. If one 4K title stalls while others are fine, message the title to our team and they will look at that copy.

The next episode does not start by itself

Auto-play depends on the player version and on how the series is listed. Return to the season list and choose the next number. Updating the player from Google Play often improves episode handling, and your place stays easy to spot in the list.

Saved films have vanished

Removing and re-adding a playlist makes the app treat it as brand new, which can wipe favorites and resume points. Edit the existing playlist instead. Clearing app data has the same effect, so keep it as a last resort.

The tablet knocks the TV off

Every plan has a fixed number of simultaneous screens. On one screen, starting a film on the tablet ends the TV session. Close the idle app and wait a minute. If two rooms watch most nights, pick two screens or more next time you renew.

PrimeFlexMedia on Android TV: common questions

What are the steps for IPTV on a Google TV?

Get TiViMate through the Apps tab (or Smarters by way of Downloader), then choose the Xtream Codes login and type your PrimeFlexMedia details. In TiViMate, accept the offer to add movies and series. Most people press Play on a first film within ten minutes, and older Android TV menus follow the same pattern.

Where does TiViMate keep movies and series?

Press Back or Left to open the TiViMate main menu, then pick Movies or Series. If neither entry shows, the playlist was saved without the library. Open Settings, Playlists, choose PrimeFlexMedia, turn on movies and series and update. The film and series lists then sit next to live TV under one login.

Can I get IPTV Smarters Pro from Google Play?

Not at our September 2026 check; no store region we tried listed it. The Android build still runs well on Android TV and Google TV. Use Downloader with the code our support sends, or the official Smarters website. Skip mirror sites, since a number of them bundle adware with the file.

What Android TV box plays 4K films smoothly?

Choose Google certification, an Ethernet port, HEVC decoding and 3 GB of memory or more. Three boxes met every point in our September 2026 review: the Shield TV Pro from Nvidia, the onn 4K Pro and the TV Streamer made by Google. For long 4K titles, a wired connection matters about as much as the box itself.

Do Android TV players let me change subtitles?

Yes, provided the title includes subtitle tracks. Press the center button during playback, then open the subtitle or audio option. Which tracks appear depends on the source of each film or episode. PrimeFlexMedia does not guarantee a given language on any title, so check your must-watch films during the trial.

Is one login enough for every screen in the house?

It is. Save the login on as many devices as you want. The plan only caps simultaneous playback, at 1, 2, 3 or 5 screens. Watchlists and resume points live inside each app and do not copy over. You can change the screen count whenever you renew.
